Mondays 1 April to 8 July, 9:30am to 10:30am OR 11am to 12noon - NOT 22 April

Each class begins with a read aloud of a top-quality, meaningful picture book. A different reading skill is modelled and explored every week. In Term 1 we explored books centred on the theme of animals. We then moved into an open-ended, process-based creative project inspired by the book. Tuesday 7 May to 2 July, 4pm to 5:30pm

This nine week children's art class is for 5-12 year olds. Please note the day change - the class will now be on Tuesday. This art class is a creative hub for all kinds of artmaking - painting, drawing, clay, collage, sculpture, mixed media and printing. The children learn about the practices of vaious artists to use as inspiration for their own work. Contact DCC to enrol your child.

A free afternoon peace meditation is held monthly. You are welcome to join this guided meditation finding peace within and spreading peace out into the world. Contact us if you are interested in attending. Some transport available for locals if booked in advance.

Saturdays 11 & 18 May and Tuesdays 14 & 28 May, 1:30pm-4pm

Residents new to this Local Government Area (Drummoyne to Rhodes) are invited on a minibus tour to learn about the history, find out about local amenities and services available.

  • Tours on Saturday 11 May and Tuesday 28 May will have a Mandarin speaking tour guide - bookings Shirley 0425 187 688.
  • Tours on Tuesday 14 May and Saturday 18 May will have an English speaking tour guide - bookings DCC 9719 8102.

The tours start from either the Drummoyne Community Centre at Drummoyne, or from The Connection at Rhodes. The tours are supported by the City of Canada Bay and are free however bookings are essential.

Free activity. Join a friendly group in a guided meditation finding peace within and spreading peace out into the world. Afterwards we will share the food that people have brought in a community meal. This group meets monthly. Some transport for locals available. Contact us if you are interested in attending.
